Gurminder K. Bhambra is a Professor of Historical Sociology at the University of Sussex. She is the co-author of Colonialism and Modern Social Theory (Polity 2021, with John Holmwood), and author of Connected Sociologies (Bloomsbury 2014), and the award-winning Rethinking Modernity: Postcolonialism and the Sociological Imagination (Palgrave 2007). She is also co-editor of the Sage Handbook of Global Sociology (Sage 2024) and of Imperial Inequalities: The Politics of Economic Governance Across European Empires (MUP 2023). She is a Fellow of the British Academy, the Royal Historical Society, and the Academy of Social Sciences; and has been President of the British Sociological Association (BSA) and Trustee of the Sociological Review Foundation. She runs the Global Social Theory site, is co-editor of Discover Society, and directs the Connected Sociologies Curriculum Project.

Maitrayee Chaudhuri is a former Professor of Sociology at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems (CSSS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). She is one of the co-founders of Doing Sociology and the current President of the Indian Sociological Society (ISS).
