Debal K. SinghaRoy is a Professor of Sociology in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. His books include Peasants’ Movements in Post-colonial India (Sage 2004), The Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Social and Political Movement (Blackwell Publishing Ltd. in 2013) and Towards a Knowledge Society: New Identities in Emerging India (Cambridge University Press 2014).
