B B Mohanty is a Professor of Sociology in Pondicherry University. His recent books include Agrarian Change and Mobilization: Studies in Indian Sociology (Sage, 2013), Critical Perspectives in Agrarian Transition: India in the Global Debate (Routledge, 2018), and Agrarian Transformation in Western India: Economic Gains and Social Costs (Routledge, 2018). Currently he is the Managing Editor of Sociological Bulletin, the journal published by Indian Sociological Society (ISS).
