Purendra Prasad is currently a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Central University of Hyderabad. He has previously worked with the Centre for Social Studies (CSS), Surat and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. His research areas include Agrarian Studies, Political Economy of Health and Development, Urban Studies and Wealth Inequalities. He is the co-editor of Equity and Access: Health Care Studies in India, published by the Oxford University Press (OUP) in 2018.
